The 6th edition of the International Literature Festival of Izmir, directed by the celebrated poet and literary critic Haydar Ergulen, will count this year with the participation of the Portuguese poet Mário Tiago Paixão, as one of the international guests of this event.

This edition of the Festival, under the title Literature is Slow, has as its guest of honor the writer Latife Tekin, one of the most respected names in contemporary Turkish literature.

The event will take place at various locations in the city of Izmir, where nearly 40 writers will promote a range of activities – workshops, conferences, performances, exhibitions and reading sessions – and will take place between the 30th of September and the 7th of October.

Mário Tiago Paixão will participate in the main panel of the event and in a series of debates about the main theme highlighted.

The last book edited in Turkey by the Portuguese poet, under the title Ifitra va diger gozlemler, in English “Slander and other observations”, which has been very well received by critics, will be one of the highlights of his talks.
